"SPRING MUSIC MAKING"
The pleasant environment of Jirasek Gardens, that lie on the junction of rivers Labe and Orlice, in the feast May afternoon is a setting of a rendezvous of folklore songs and dances. The Jirasek Gardens can be found close to historical town centre.
"RENDEZVOUS OF FOLKLORE"
The ensemble Kvitek, together with the Folklorist Association of the Czech Republic and Hradec Cultural and Educational Society, is annually an organizer of the festival Rendezvous of Folklore with international participation. This event is regularly arranged in the last third of August and usually 4-6 ensembles come.
The first day of the festival takes place in Hradec Kralove. After the parade through the city the main festival performance takes place in the Jirasek Gardens, the next one in the pedestrian precinct downtown. The following day the performances move to some other place of the Hradec region, the area of castle Hradek near Nechanice was mainly that place in the last several years. The festival is a sincere meeting and the ensemble Kvitek seeks to prepare for all guests a friendly atmosphere.
"KVITEK AT CHRISTMAS"
At the time before Christmas Kvitek organizes together with the Hradec Cultural and Educational Society a performance of folk songs, carols and rhymes "Kvitek at Christmas". This chamber concert tries to show the beauty of the czech cristmas carols not only to adult people, but mainly to children, who also can participate on the performance.
