Folklorist Ensemble KVÍTEK Hradec Kralove
The ensemble was founded in the autumn of 1982 as a dancing group, in 1985 children band began to form. Now, after 26 years, the members are children dancers (5 to 13 years old) and experienced musicians, mainly young adults.
The ensemble works on rhymes, songs and dances mainly of its own region – region of the Hradec Kralove and East-Bohemian regions. The band likes to play songs from other areas of Bohemia, Moravia and Slovakia, as well. All arrangements of songs and choreography of dances have originated from the ensemble´s workshop. On the band repertoire there are more then 400 song arrangements recorded in notes. During the time of its existence the ensemble has performed at home and abroad many times. In the year 1995 the musicians and singers produced an audiocassette called Kvitek… and the Czech song; a year later, a cassette of Christmas carrols, Sleep, sleep, Innocent Child, was recorded. The first ensemble’s CD Folk songs not only from Hradec contains 21 songs and was recorded in 2002.
The ensemble’s logo is plain blue flower with stalk curled in the shape of treble clef. The idea of this logo is simple flower of flax – which is useful and nice plant. If the ensemble Kvitek is useful and nice as well is up to your judgment, after you may come to see its performance one day.
